UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS -- Astronomers at UI have helped discover new insight about what's going on in Outer Space. A team of researchers, including Ryan Foley, used NASA's Hubble Telescope to look at pictures of a white dwarf supernova. They were able to find out exactly which star exploded and what happened to it afterwards.

Foley says, information like this can help us understand the world around us. Foley is on his way to a conference in Australia where he will share his research with more people. A supernova makes elements in the universe which is where iron in your blood and calcium in your bones came from.
