Retired millionaire!

SPRINGFIELD -- It's a dream come true for a former lottery worker.
SPRINGFIELD -- It's a dream come true for a former lottery worker. Shiryl Stevens retired last year, now she's a million dollars richer.

She's one of four to win big in the Halloween raffle. Stevens was never allowed to play the lottery in Illinois since she worked for it. After retiring last year, she started playing all the time. Little did she know, a year later, she'd be a millionaire.

Stevens and her husband were awarded this huge check. All their family and friends turned out to show support. Shiryl was nothing but smiles the entire time. She says it's so hard to believe she actually won.

She bought three tickets for the Halloween raffle game. She says she forgot to check the numbers, but a friend reminded her. She says when they matched up, she was in shock.

Stevens bought her ticket at the Ayerco in Petersburg. She says she goes there all the time to buy lottery tickets.

Shiryl says they plan to expand a pond in their yard, but haven't decide what else they might do with their winnings. They have plenty of time to decide. They'll get the money in a month or so.
