ST. JOSEPH -- The Illinois Department of Transportation begins work Monday, August 20, installing high-tension cable guardrails in the median of I-74. Work will affect the area from St. Joseph to IL 49 North in Champaign and Vermilion counties.

Traffic will be reduced to one lane during the day. It's part of a reflector-replacement project taking place in a five-county district. The $2.4 million project will continue until November and resume in spring 2013. It should be completed by October 2013.
