ILLINOIS -- A dangerous weed has farmers around the state worried.
ILLINOIS -- A dangerous weed has farmers around the state worried. Palmer weed is a fast-growing weed, considered to be common in the south, but it's now made it's way north. An AG scientist from the University of Illinois says at least 30 counties throughout the state have seen cases of it this summer.

The weed can grow several inches in a week. An AG scientist from Oklahoma was in Champaign Wednesday. He's seen firsthand how bad the weed can be. Farmers only have about two to three weeks to get rid of the weed before it becomes too late.
