CHAMPAIGN -- A Champaign school administrator is getting a pretty prestigious award. Laura Taylor is one of the district's assistant superintendents. She's been awarded Educator of the Year by GLSEN; The Gay Lesbian Straight Education Network.

Taylor has a background in social justice and works hard to create more acceptance and inclusion in schools. That work that has now earned her one of the most prestigious awards in the country.

"The award is great. I am very excited and it's very nice. I have a fear of flying, but people are getting involved and that's all I can ask for," says Taylor.

Taylor gets to bring two students to the RESPECT Awards Ceremony, in New York, on May 19. Some of the celebrities expected to attend are Kevin Bacon and Robin Roberts.
