DANVILLE -- An elementary school is one step closer to getting a makeover. Wednesday night the school board approved architectural plans including energy-efficient windows and updating the cafeteria.

The board also voted to start taking bids on the project. It won't approve a contract for a construction company until December. The project will cost about $12 million.
