ILLINOIS -- State funding is taking a toll on the number of people hoping to become Illinois State Police officers. 37 new cadets graduated from ISP training, in Springfield, Friday. They spent 39 weeks learning everything from terrorism awareness and domestic violence to firearm training. But, this is only the second cadet class this year. The ISP director says he was hoping for more and expected another graduating class in June.
