VERMILION COUNTY -- Some people who live by wind turbines say the noise is making them sick, so the county board is looking into how loud they actually are. It seems the loudest thing running along Route 49 is the trucks, but some families in the area say, at certain times, the turbines sound like jet engines.

They think the noise is causing them to have health problems. Everyone seems to have a different opinion. Some say it bothers them while others say they don't notice it too much.

The turbines are owned by Invenergy. An attorney for the company address the county board Tuesday night.

Results of the study are supposed to be done by the end of the month. Someone measuring sound in the area says it varies during the day and gets at its worst when winds are about 5 - 10 miles per hour or at night.
