NATIONAL -- The government shutdown is keeping most IRS workers home, but that doesn't mean you're off the hook for your taxes.
NATIONAL -- The government shutdown is keeping most IRS workers home, but that doesn't mean you're off the hook for your taxes. The agency says Tuesday's deadline, for filing your taxes if you requested a six-month extension in April, still stands.

The IRS says it won't issue any refunds until "normal government operations resume." The agency also won't have any workers to take calls or help taxpayers in person. More than 90% of IRS staff is on furlough.
