CENTRAL ILLINOIS -- Icy conditions are being blamed for a deadly accident Thursday morning. It happened just past the Mattoon exit in the northbound lane of I-57.

A car hit ice and skidded out of control. When it came to a stop, a semi hit the passenger side. The driver, who was the only one in the vehicle, was killed.

Meanwhile, another accident on I-74 between Mansfield and Farmer City wasn't as serious. 41-year old Ellen Davis was in a truck which ended up underneath a semi.

She slid off the road and wound up in the median. The semi also slid off and the trailer ended on top of Davis' truck. Davis was treated and released from the hospital.
