RANTOUL -- Repairs need to be made to keep the town's water safe and village leaders want a meat processing plant to help foot the bill. Wednesday night, the board approved the fix to a filter at the waste-water treatment plant.

Public works says fats, grease and other chemicals from the Rantoul Foods Pork Processing Plant ruined the filters. Officials want the company to pay its fair share.

It's going to cost about $200,000 to fix it. Company leaders haven't said whether they'll help pay. Construction is expected to start early this summer.
