This Day In Weather History

1905 - An extremely cold air mass settled in across central Illinois.  Decatur's low of 25 below zero is the coldest ever for the city.  Springfield also set it's all-time cold record at 24 below zero.  Champaign joined the all-time record group at 25 below zero, but it has been tied a few times since then.  Peoria dropped to 26 below zero, the second coldest in the city's history.
