This Day In Weather History1991 - Severe thunderstorms brought baseball size hail to central and southeast Illinois during the afternoon and evening hours. The Baseball-size hail was reported in Oakwood, which is in Vermilion County. There was also hail with a diameter of 2" reporteed in Minonk, which is in Vermilion County. A semi was overturned in Elkhart (Logan County) due to an 80 mph wind gust. Several trees were also blown over.
