1984 - Temperatures soared with many places topping out around the century mark.  Springfield hit 101, which is the second warmest the month has ever seen in the Capital City.  Since weather records began in Springfield in 1879 only 12 days have made it to 100 degrees or higher. 

2003 - Danville had 3.70" of rain on this date, the most in one day for the entire month of September. 

2011 - Springfield reached 102, the highest temperature it has reached in the month of September.
