MACON COUNTY -- The drought is killing more than just crops.
MACON COUNTY -- The drought is killing more than just crops. It's also fueling a disease which kills deer. It's called EHD, or Blue Tongue. It's spread by gnats.

Normally, there are only a few cases per year, but this year, more than 700 deer have already died. Macon County is one of the hardest hit areas.

Experts say they expect to see even more reports after hunters hit the woods. The disease doesn't affect people, but farmers beware. It can be deadly in sheep too.
