Event honors MLK and community members

CHAMPAIGN -- People gathered to honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Friday.
CHAMPAIGN -- People gathered to honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Friday. Children from the Mo Betta Music Program performed for the audience. They serenaded a room full of people who got the chance to see community members honored for their service.

There was also a special speaker; Cheryl Brown-Henderson. Her father was Oliver Brown; one of twelve parents who sued the Board of Education to end segregation in public schools in 1951.

WCIA-3's Jennifer Roscoe was the Mistress of Ceremonies at the event. Martin Luther King day is Monday.
