Farmer not finding federal disaster relief

TUSCOLA -- One farmer who turned to FEMA for disaster aid after last month's tornadoes is coming up empty-handed.
TUSCOLA -- One farmer who turned to FEMA for disaster aid after last month's tornadoes is coming up empty-handed. He was denied.

His home is under-insured and the insurance company will not cover his greenhouse. It puts Robert Kleiss in a tough position.

Most of his house was blown away by the tornado. For his business, he sells fruits and vegetables. For help, he went online and registered with FEMA, but was not eligible. He says this might be the last straw.

FEMA says, even if you're not eligible online, call the toll-free phone number and go over the application with customer service. It might be a question which was answered wrong or a piece of paper needed from your insurance company.
