CHAMPAIGN -- Police and firefighters put their skills to the test at the dinner table. Members from each department competed in a rib-eating contest at Texas Roadhouse.

It's the first time the restaurant has hosted the event. It was a relay-style competition. Each eater had to wait until the person before cleaned his plate.

The competition and the trash-talk were fierce. In the end, the police department took a bite out of the fire department to come out on top.

But, the real winners are students and staff at Unit 4 schools. The district gets 10% of all money raised at the event.

CHAMPAIGN -- It's a showdown between firefighters and police at the Texas Roadhouse. The first responders are taking on a rib-eating challenge. Some friendly competition is all for a good cause.

Ten percent of proceeds raised will go to the Unit 4 School District. It's the first year for the contest. Organizers say since they do a lot with the district, this is just one more way to help.
