CHAMPAIGN -- A local baseball team got a little help from a major league star.
CHAMPAIGN -- A local baseball team got a little help from a major league star. The Tom Jones Challenger League did some fundraising by hosting a benefit auction. The league helps kids with disabilities enjoy baseball.

The guest speaker was former Cincinnati Reds All-Star Pete Rose.

"It's always nice to come to an event like this, because the whole city supports it. You know, I'm just a small part of a big deal," said Rose.

Rose holds the MLB record for most hits, outs and games played. He says he's happy to pitch in at programs for kids.
