WESTVILLE -- After losing their daughter to heart problems, one family is making sure to carry on her legacy. The Kaitlyn Foster Picnic for Kids was held Saturday at Zamberletti Park.

Olympic games, a bounce house and a balloon release were all held in memory of kids who have lost their lives. It's an event Kaitlyn Foster started herself about four years ago.

She suffered from heart problems and wanted to help other kids with serious medical conditions. Foster died two years ago, but that hasn't stopped her family from making sure her fundraising efforts continue.

Money raised will go to the Kaitlyn Foster Children's Fund. It will be used to help kids who are still fighting serious medical conditions.

WESTVILLE -- A Vermilion County family is trying to keep their daughter's dream alive. Kaitlyn Foster passed away nearly a year ago from heart problems. She was 14-years old.

After getting a transplant in 2009, she started organizing a yearly fundraiser to help kids and their families dealing with serious medical conditions. This video was from the event's first year. Now, it's entering its fourth year.

Even though Kaitlyn is gone, her mom is making sure the tradition lives on. The event will have a bike and car show, music, karaoke, bags tournament and more. All the money raised will benefit children with medical issues in the surrounding area.
