CHAMPAIGN -- For many people, January 1 a day to make new year's resolutions. Some of the top goals people say they have are to get fit and lose weight. Workers at The Fitness Center say they usually see a lot of members in December and January -- both new and returning ones. They have a few words of advice for sticking to your fitness plans.

"Just think about the long term goal," said Alonzeia Moore, who works at The Fitness Center. "Think about how you want to look in a swimsuit in the summer time or how you want to feel years down the road."

People say they also come to gyms to get diet advice and work out tips. Trainers say it's important to come up with a schedule and make time to work out. They say exercising is a great way to boost your self-confidence.
