Groce praises team's "tough dudes"

Illinois got it's Big Ten season started on the right foot with that overtime win over Indiana Tuesday. 17 Big Ten games remain on Illinois' regular season schedule, and head coach John Groce says he likes where his team is at from a toughness perspective.
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -- As we near the halfway point of the college basketball season, Illinois' NCAA tournament resume is in pretty good shape, so far.  Illinois is among the Top 20 in the country in RPI; and in ESPN's latest Bracketology released Thursday, Illinois would be a 10-seed in the NCAA tournament.

There is still a lot of time left, but Illinois got it's Big Ten season started on the right foot with that overtime win over Indiana Tuesday.  17 Big Ten games remain on Illinois' regular season schedule, and head coach John Groce says he likes where his team is at from a toughness perspective.

"We've got a lot of tough dudes in our locker room.  We take a lot of pride in that," Groce said.  "We battle and fight and claw and scratch.  We've got some tough guys.  They're fun to coach."

Illinois (12-2, 1-0) will try to pick it's second Big Ten win of the year Saturday against Penn St.
