Hackers continue compromising credit

URBANA -- Hackers who got a hold of millions of Schnuck's customer cards are still causing headaches.
URBANA -- Hackers who got a hold of millions of Schnuck's customer cards are still causing headaches. Dozens of banks and credit unions have had to freeze cards and cancel accounts.

One was the University of Illinois Employee Credit Union. It started getting calls and visits a few weeks ago.

Since then, it's had to cancel and reissue about 5,000 credit and debit cards. UIECU tried to notify customers through email or phone calls and replace everything as quickly as possible.

Schnuck's managers think about 2-million cards were compromised when hackers accessed the system. They say it's been fixed, but it's still a good idea to keep an eye on your accounts.
