LOGAN COUNTY -- Five back-to-back life sentences, plus an extra 80-years is what Christopher Harris received for killing five members of a Beason family in 2009. The judge handed down the sentence Friday.

For the first time, the victims' family speaks. WCIA-3's Ashley Michels has more from Logan County.

It's the closing chapter for what's been a real-life horror story for one family. Christopher Harris will spend the rest of his natural life in prison. Last month, a jury found him guilty of killing his ex-wife's family.

It happened nearly four years ago and other family members say they now finally have some closure. Tears filled the courtroom as a relative read a statement from 7-year old Tabitha Gee, the only survivor of the attacks.

She said to Chris, "I wish you were dead and my mommy and daddy and brothers and sisters were alive. Did you hit me first? I do not know if you did or not, but if I saw you hit my family, it would break my heart. You have to say, 'sorry.'"

Harris showed almost no emotion until the statement from Nicole Gee. She said, "Why can't you, at some point, think of someone other than yourself. Be honest and tell the truth about what happened. You are never getting out, so give it up."

The family says even if they never get the full story, they can move on a little easier knowing they have justice. Harris made a short statement after his sentence came down. He says he's sorry for all the losses, but still says he didn't do it. He plans on appealing his conviction.

Chris' brother, Jason, took a plea deal for his involvement in the crimes. He was sentenced to 20-years in prison, but will be out in six for time served.
