CHICAGO -- A program to help veterans get job training will soon get underway in the state. It's called "Get Skills to Work." It will help returning veterans find jobs in manufacturing.

State leaders say there are more jobs than qualified workers, so the program will find companies willing to hire veterans and community colleges will help do the training. They say it's a win-win for everyone.

Illinois is the first state to sign on with the nationwide program. It hopes to put at least 15,000 veterans to work in the next two years.
