DANVILLE -- Heroes faced off at the mound to raise money for one of their own. Police officers battled firefighters in an annual charity baseball event. Then, each team plays against wounded veterans from around the country.

Admission donations go to an organization or person in need. This year, the money is going to two local cancer survivors. One is the wife of a firefighter who's had the disease twice.
