Hess is best in Twin City XC

STM's Nick Hess won the Twin City boys cross-country title, while Central wins the team crown. On the girls side, Uni-High's Annemarie Michael leads her Illineks to the team title.
CROSS-COUNTRY
URBANA - St. Thomas More senior Nick Hess (15:26) won the Twin City boys cross-country title Tuesday at Orchard Downs in Urbana.  Hess' Sabers finished third as a team.  Central, led by second-place finisher Corey White (16:06) wins the team crown.  The Uni-High boys finished second.

On the girls side, Uni-High freshman Annemarie Michael (18:34) leads her Illineks to the team title.  Michael held off Central's Hannah Wright (18:58).  Wright's Maroons take second as a team.  St. Thomas More finishes third.

BOYS GOLF
In boys regional play, Centennial won it's fourth regional title in five years.  The Chargers were led by Christian Khachaturian, who fired a 70 to win medalist honors.  Other teams winning their regional included St. Thomas More, LSA/Argenta-Oreana, St. Anthony, SHG and PORTA.

VOLLEYBALL
CHAMPAIGN - Centennial swept Central in a Big 12 conference showdown Tuesday night.  The Chargers won 25-19, 25-10.  Urbana was also a winner over Mahomet-Seymour 25-7, 25-22.
