SPRINGFIELD -- Hope Institute says it's reviewing safety procedures after accusations of abuse and neglect. It houses children and families dealing with autism.

A police report states officers were called there last month and found a 10-year old with a broken arm, covered in bruises.

Hope Institute issued this statement:

        The Hope Institute for Children and Families regards the
        safety of the children in its care as its top priority. DCFS
        employees have visited residential units during all three
        shifts to review operations and collect information. Hope
        is fully supportive of these efforts and confidently looks
        forward to a timely resolution of the issue, including any
        appropriate actions necessary.

SPRINGFIELD -- An institute for kids with autism is being investigated for abuse and neglect. A police report shows officers were called to Hope Institute where they found a 10-year old with a broken arm and covered in bruises.

DCFS has increased monitoring at all sites. A police investigation is underway. No arrests have been made.
