Illini ranked No. 23

The Illinois men's basketball team has jumped into the Top 25 for the first time this season. The new Associated Press rankings were released Monday, and Illinois is ranked No. 23. This comes after back-to-back wins over Indiana and Penn State to open Big Ten play.
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - The Illinois men's basketball team has jumped into the Top 25 for the first time this season.  The new Associated Press rankings were released Monday, and Illinois is ranked No. 23.   This comes after back-to-back wins over Indiana and Penn State to open Big Ten play.

Illinois (13-2, 2-0) is one of five Big Ten teams in the Top 25.  Ohio State (3), Wisconsin (4), Michigan State (5) and Iowa (20) are the others.  Illinois is still unranked in the Coaches Poll.

Illinois travels to No. 4 Wisconsin Wednesday night to visit the undefeated Badgers (8:00 pm, BTN).
