Illini squander late lead, fall to Ga Tech

The Fighting Illini led a 12-point second-half lead slip away en route to a 67-64 loss at Georgia Tech in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge. After trailing by 3 points at halftime, Illinois fought back to open up a 12-point advantage with 9:00 to go in the game. But the Yellow Jackets (6-3) closed the game on a 19-4 run to hand the Illini their first loss of the year.
ATLANTA, Ga -- The Fighting Illini led a 12-point second-half lead slip away en route to a 67-64 loss at Georgia Tech in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge.  After trailing by 3 points at halftime, Illinois fought back to open up a 12-point advantage with 9:00 to go in the game.  But the Yellow Jackets (6-3) closed the game on a 19-4 run to hand the Illini their first loss of the year.

Reigning Big Ten Player of the Week Rayvonte Rice led Illinois (7-1) with 24 points.  Joseph Bertrand (10) was the only other Illinois player in double figures.  The Illini are off until Sunday when they return to Atlanta to take on the Auburn Tigers.
