SPRINGFIELD -- It was an emotional day for Senator Mark Kirk (R). He made his first speech on the Senate floor since suffering a stroke two years ago.

He's co-sponsoring a bill to ban workplace discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity.

Kirk's mobility and speech were affected by the stroke. He asked permission to give the speech while seated.
