SPRINGFIELD -- One of the state's top lawmakers is trying to get the ball rolling on a pension fix. Senate President John Cullerton (D) is pushing one of the plans the special pension committee is discussing.

It has some give-and-take for employees and the state and will save Illinois more than $130-billion. Some worry it will get shot down in court though, but experts say, that might not be a bad thing.

Cullerton says he will spend the next few weeks trying to get lawmakers to support the plan. He could call it for a vote when they're back in town at the end of the month.
