Lawmakers want appeal thrown out

SPRINGFIELD -- A group of state lawmakers want the state's highest court to throw out a case involving their pay.
SPRINGFIELD -- A group of state lawmakers want the state's highest court to throw out a case involving their pay. Last month, a judge ruled the governor did not have the authority to end lawmakers' paychecks.

But Governor Quinn is appealing that ruling to the Illinois Supreme Court. Tuesday, the lawmakers responded to the appeal in a court filing, stating the lower court's ruling should be upheld.
