When she was five, Lisa Meadows told everyone she wanted to be a storm chaser when she grew up. It wasn't long before she logged over 150 hours storm chasing, most of the time with the Valparaiso University Storm Intercept Team. Lisa graduated from Valpo with a B.S. in meteorology along with a minor in math and a B.A. in TV/Radio communications. While at VU, she was elected President of the Northwest Indiana American Meteorological Society and Weather Director for VUTV. Lisa's second home in college was definitely a TV station. She interned with Ginger Zee at NBC Chicago, Tom Skilling at WGN, and Amy Freeze at FOX Chicago. Her final internship included broadcasting live on Lakeshore News Tonight, a PBS station in northwest Indiana.

After graduation Lisa moved to Lubbock, Texas as the morning meteorologist for KLBK. When Lisa describes forecasting in Texas she says, "there were a lot of hot & dry days; but when it stormed...we had baseball size hail type of storms." Along with getting a good taste of severe weather coverage, she even gave warnings for blinding dust storms!

Growing up in northwest Indiana, Lisa is a Midwestern girl who is happy to be back in a region that gets its fair share of winter weather. Forecasting winter snow storms is one of her favorite challenges, following as a close second only to forecasting for storm chases. When not chasing, Lisa enjoys being outside running and rollerblading.
