CHAMPAIGN -- Two police officers can now call themselves "ironmen." Lieutenant Bob Rea and Sergeant Dennis Baltzell are tri-athletes.

Both took part in the "Ironman" competition in Madison, Wisconsin. To prepare for the event, they trained for seven months, working out at least 16-hours per week. Both say the event helps them become better officers.

To complete the event, they swam 2.4 miles, biked 112 miles and ran a full marathon. Nine Champaign Police officers have participated in the past.
