Pantry bombarded with donations

CHAMPAIGN -- Volunteers sent out a plea for help because of an empty food pantry.  You did not disappoint. Restoration Urban Ministries' pantry is now full of food.

Volunteers say they were bombarded with donations Tuesday morning. They were low because most food was being sent to Gifford. People there heard about the empty pantry and donated a $500 check.

"It means everything. Their message was we've been so blessed we need to bless someone else. That's who we really are. Not only Champaign, but America. Every now and then, we need to hear that to know who we really are," director Ervin Williams said.

With so much food, they'll give out full bags Wednesday from 10 - 12.
