Police investigate string of burglaries

CHAMPAIGN -- Authorities are investigating three burglaries they think might be related.

CHAMPAIGN -- Authorities are investigating three burglaries they think might be related. The first was in the early morning hours of July 11, at the Clifford Jacobs Forging Company, in the 2400-block of North Fifth Street. Tools and castings worth $18,000 were stolen.

Between July 8 - 12, a cell tower on South Mattis was broken into. 600 feet of copper wire worth $6,200 was taken.

July 30, an Ameren substation on East Olympian was broken into. $900 worth of copper wire and $500 in tools were stolen.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers. You can remain anonymous and may earn a cash reward.
