Police search for information on possible hit and run

CHAMPAIGN -- Police are asking for the public's help in providing information regarding a possible hit and run accident.
CHAMPAIGN -- Police are asking for the public's help in providing information regarding a possible hit and run accident. They believe it happened Saturday between midnight and 4:30 am in the area of Sixth and Daniel streets.

Police say a 21-year old victim arrived at the hospital with several fractures and other severe injuries. The man told police he left a bar in the area of Sixth and Daniel around midnight. He woke up, sometime after 4:30 am in an unfamiliar area. He says he couldn't remember how he got there. He used GPS information on his cellphone to find out he was in the area of Green Street and Prospect Avenue.

The victim told police he believed he had been hit by a car somewhere near campus then taken to a different location. Hospital staff agreed that his injuries were consistent with being hit by a car. The victim also reported both of his shoes were missing.
