SPRINGFIELD -- Thousands of people who work in Illinois' horse racing industry say they're worried they won't have jobs next year. They're waiting on lawmakers to renew a law allowing online betting.

Without it, the number of race days will be cut from about 250 to just 13. Lawmakers didn't address the problem during fall veto session, and it's leaving workers with few options.

There's a chance lawmakers could still pass the Online Betting Law before it's too late. It's set to expire January 31. Lawmakers return to Springfield January 29.
