Random acts of kindness spread across country

CHAMPAIGN -- A University of Illinois student's dream of inspiring kindness has spread across the country. We first told you about Nora Al-Qadi earlier this month. She decided to do a random act of kindness every day of December.

On Monday, Nora gathered toys and movies to take to patients at Carle Hospital. Others around the U.S. have been paying it forward too.

"People in Washington have done stuff, Florida," said Nora. "It's amazing that it's just spreading so quickly and that it's a positive thing that's spreading. That's what makes me so happy."

Among other things, Nora baked treats for people working on Christmas and collected money to buy a laptop for a student who couldn't afford one. She says she doesn't want any praise or attention for this, but just wants to help inspire others.

Nora hopes the project continues to spread. If you want to get involved, you can email Nora at CUrandomactsofkindness@gmail.com or you can just do something on your own!
