It will be a special night for Champaign-native and Centennial grad Rayvonte Rice, who transferred in from Drake, and now gets his chance to play in front of the home fans for the first time.
CHAMPAIGN -- The Illinois basketball team received two votes in the preseason USA Today Coaches Poll Thursday, making it pretty clear those around the country are taking a wait-and-see approach with John Groce's second team.  Fans will get a chance to see a little bit of what they've got tonight in the Orange and Blue Scrimmage at the State Farm Center.

It will be a special night for Champaign-native and Centennial grad Rayvonte Rice, who transferred in from Drake, and now gets his chance to play in front of the home fans for the first time.

"It's gonna mean a lot," Rice said.  "Just growing up watching Deron and Luther and all those guys.  Just being on that court, it's gonna be good."

The Orange and Blue Scrimmage tips off at 7:00 p.m.
