The Rochester football team is having to forfeit its win against SH-G earlier this season. The Rockets self-reported a violation of the IHSA's Amateurism by-law. A group called 'Football Moms' purchased State Championship rings for three players who couldn't afford them. Each ring cost $457, exceeding the $200 amount allotted by the IHSA. The three players and head coach Derek Leonard voluntarily sat out of last night's win. Sacred Heart-Griffin is now 9-0. Rochester is 8-1. The IHSA will determine the eligibility of the three players for post season play early next week.
