CHAMPAIGN -- An area school showed off its new digs Tuesday night. Westview Elementary held a dedication ceremony for a new addition.

It includes a gym, six classrooms and new technology. Every other part of the school was also renovated. It was built in 1950, and the principal says improvements were necessary.

Renovations cost just over $7.5 million. School construction projects are funded through the countywide one-percent sales tax.
