Shelter workers warn heat is dangerous for pets

COLES COUNTY -- Animals are also suffering in the heat. 
COLES COUNTY -- Animals are also suffering in the heat. That's why the Coles County Animal Shelter is warning people to keep pets safe. Workers are asking you to print flyers and put them on people's cars.

That's because Monday, someone was caught leaving their dog inside their vehicle. When shelter workers arrived, the temperature inside was more than 100 degrees. They say it only takes a few minutes for a dog to pass out or die in that kind of heat.
