State agency honors Robert Reese

SPRINGFIELD -- The state's Emergency Management Agency is honoring one of our own for his hard work over the years.
SPRINGFIELD -- The state's Emergency Management Agency is honoring one of our own for his hard work over the years. Robert Reese is now part of their memorial wall.

Robert was a meteorologist at WCIA-3 for nearly 15 years. He was also a volunteer for the Douglas County Disaster Agency.

Robert passed away last October. His wife says seeing him honored was difficult, but she says it's well deserved.

"Let me put it this way, if the sirens were going off, Robert wasn't here. That's why I had to have a basement. He was gone. His first concern was always his children, but he really cared about helping other people."

More than a dozen others are also remembered on this year's Memorial Wall. The agency says all of them were picked because of their dedication and impact on their communities.
