CHAMPAIGN -- Police are taking a terrorist threat seriously which brought the FBI into the investigation. It happened this past weekend when a UI student was arrested Saturday.

19-year old Dany Sammak is charged with disorderly conduct. Police say he made references to the Virginia Tech shootings and threatened to do worse stuff here. Sammak also made gun gestures with his hands at students.

Police arrested hm in the 200 block of Armory. CPD and UIP worked with the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force on the case. Officers say it's because terrorism is one of the FBI' specialties.

That team worked around-the-clock searching Sammak's computer and personal property. Investigators say fellow students raised the red flag.

After reviewing what they'd found, authorities say they didn't come up with anything to confirm Sammak is involved in any kind of terrorist activity, but police say they still took the situation very seriously.

Officials say they don't hear about threats like this very often, but if you do, you should call police.
