CHAMPAIGN -- It's the first week of school for many kids in the area.
CHAMPAIGN -- It's the first week of school for many kids in the area. Monday was the first time students at Westview Elementary got to see their new surroundings.

The school is open after an $8 million upgrade. The countywide 1% sales tax paid for it.

The school has a brand new gym and cafeteria along with new classrooms and technology. Many students were eager to see all the changes.

Students and staff stayed in the former Carrie Busey building during construction. Students from Bottenfield Grade School are there now while their building is undergoing renovations.
