GIFFORD -- Teenagers are helping storm victims. Instead of getting on the bus and going to school, students from Armstrong-Potomac headed here instead. All of them are part of Future Farmers of America (FFA).

They cleaned up fields filled with debris from damaged homes, helping farmers get back on their feet. The district only has about 135 students; 100 of whom came to help. They split up into three crews and formed organized piles for pick up.

Homes are gone and farms are damaged, but the kids are happy to help and the teachers are very proud. The principal says the kids will be back Wednesday.

One of the best parts of living in a small town is everyone knows each other. This was just a small request by one farmer who asked for help and it was a huge show of support by the students. It shows some of the best life lessons happen outside the classroom.
