DANVILLE -- Police are investigating two reported attacks on women. Both happened Tuesday in the 1600-block of Beechwood. Two women were approached by the same man. One was assaulted, the other got away. WCIA-3's Erica Quednau spoke with the 26-year old victim who wanted to remain anonymous.

"I walked, like a little bit from my door, and I seen him coming towards me like in a fast pace. He just rushed up and grabbed me, choked me from the back and he had me pinned up on the tree," she said.

But quick thinking and luck helped her get away. A cab pulled into the neighborhood and she ran. The driver called 911 but the attacker was already gone.

"I was gonna fight him. He wasn't just gonna take it," she said.

Minutes later, a second woman was headed to work when the attacker came out of a bush. She wasn't as lucky.

"Her sister was raped right here as she was coming out of her apartment for work. She was forced into the woods where she had to take off all her clothes," said Marcus Sloss.

He's talking about his girlfriend's sister who is eight months pregnant.

"She's doing OK. She's going to therapy. She's getting help and she's trying to forget about the incident," said Sloss.

So is the neighborhood.

"Everyone is really in a panic. All the women around is really in a panic cause you never know what's gonna happen tomorrow morning when you wake up and try to go to work," said Sloss.

Both women gave similar descriptions of the suspect. He's a black man, 6'0", 150 lbs. He was wearing shorts and a tank top. He also has dreadlocks. No arrests have been made.
