U.S. & Illinois leaders to pay respects to Mandela

NATIONAL -- President Obama is heading to South Africa Sunday to pay his final respects to Nelson Mandela.
NATIONAL -- President Obama is heading to South Africa Sunday to pay his final respects to Nelson Mandela. Former Presidents Bush, Clinton and Carter are also expected to be there.

Monday's memorial service will be held in a large stadium in Johannesburg. After that, Mandela's body will lie in state for three days in Pretoria. He will then be buried Sunday in his hometown of Qunu.

Illinois Representative Aaron Schock (R) will lead a state delegation there. He represents the Peoria and Springfield areas.

At least 50 other world leaders and two dozen congressmen are supposed to attend. The funeral will be held at FNB Stadium. The 95,000 capacity stadium is expected to be full.
